Item Description: Vintage Colt 1911. S/N 474339. Only on the frame. No serial on the slide that I can find. Selling for a friend.Gun is in good condition considering its 100 years old.

If there is a serial number on the slide it would be under the firing pin stop, which is easily removed.

Just checked and serial numbers under the firing pin stop started only around S/N 710,000 in 1920.

Ok here's what I got. There is not a s/n behind the firing pin block. This can't be the original barrel. Blueing looks different. There is a 5 stamped on the underside though. It is not the original mag. And the box and docks are probably at the armory.
