Looks like an Essex frame.

I have a chrome version of a Remington Rand 1911 with a US Army property mark on the slide. I'm pretty sure it's the real deal because it was given to me by a retired CSM that was a friend. My question is how can you tell it's a Essex frame? And no, it's not for sale.

If it has the US property stamp it is NOT an Essex.....Essex frames came along in the mid 70's to mid 80's for the guys that wanted to build their own from parts, parts were plentiful at hat time a but no frames hence the creation of ESSex and a couple others.
Search the serial number ..US Property 1911A1 serial numbers , click on cruffler.com/ it will tell you the manufacturer and the date range the weapon was manufactured.

So I just looked up the number as you said, and found the gun to be Mfg. 1942-1943
It also said that Colt duplicated the serial numbers in 1943 starting from 921700 to 1,401,404 and the gun falls in the low range of that serial group so I think it's a 1943 Mfg. date

Thank you.
