Item Relisted! FS Essex 1911 Frame with Remington Rand Slide

A lot of people had some misguided belief that they were not allowed to own a gun that said Property of US Government so they ditched the original frames and installed aftermarket such as Essex. In the case of the chromed piece it is likely that the Sgt/Major received it as a retirement gift. That was also done quite a bit, chroming them and giving them as retirement gifts.

Thank you. I'll never sell the gun anyway in my Lifetime and fortunately my friend took a great liking to my #2 son and would have been proud of his 8 years as a Marine, so it goes to him when I'm gone. I still enjoy shooting it every once in a while and it brings back memories every time I open the safe and see it hanging on the door.

Yes sir. Sometimes sentimental value is worth more in the long run.
