It is amazing how well a 90 year old shotgun shoots...
It shoots as good as any of my newer autos.
Can you check that serial number again? That doesn't fit with 1925 numbers. Looks like it might be from the late 40's or early 50's.
Checked Proofhouse.com again and it said made 1925 serial numbers...18001-33000.
I'm going by the book “Browning Auto-5 Shotguns – The Belgian FN Production” by H. M. Shirley Jr. and Anthony Vanderlinden. There is a lot of confusion when dating old Brownings. That does look right according to Proofhouse, but by 1906 over 22,000 Auto 5 12 gauges had been made. Browning's web site doesn't even give accurate information most of the time. You may have an American made Browning, made by Remington during WII when FN in Belgium was shut down.

Why would it say made in Belgium on it if it wasn't made in Belgium?
