Sorry, for some reason it didn't post the pictures. see above for the rifle. i'm new.

The bolt will have a MPC lasered on it and the carrier will have a C - probably fully machined out on the end. The factory barrel was a .750 diameter parkerized barrel with a front sight base installed using taper pins. Stamped CMP 5.56 NATO and usually 1x9 or 1x7. The upper receiver should have a "C" forged into it on the right side above the forward assist. From what I could find - what these originally looked like:http://www.tombstonetactical.com/catalog/colt/hbar-ii-match-competition-rifle-223-rem-16in-10rd/

thanks for explaining all that for me...very helpful. it does have a "C" stamped into the bolt carrier...and a "MP" over a "C" lasered into the bolt as you suggested. however, i do not see a "C" (or any other letters or numbers) anywhere on the upper receiver, barrel, gas block, nor anywhere else on the upper. does that mean that the barrel and upper receiver are not colt?

I have never seen a Colt with a 16" bull barrel or without a forge mark. The bolt is correct but I would have to say someone changed the upper out. It looks like an older style DPMS upper. the new ones have a railed gas block.
