Congratulations for being man enough to make the sacrafices you need to make in order to pay for your wedding. if your aren't willing to sacrafice a bersa for her now for God sakes don't have kids. I actually just reread this dude you are finding an alternative way to aquire a superior firearm. Its a win win.

Yeah, I think a 38 or 357 revolver is probably superior to a comparable value and capacity auto. And thank you for understanding this whole thing: it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make to increase everyone's happiness and satisfaction. Plus, if outright buying a Taurus or similar ~$300 revolver makes any difference in the wedding budget, you can tell we're keeping it pretty cheap. Also, the fiance has promised me something special that goes boom as a wedding present after the nuptials (I just can't wait to get my hands on a revolver until then!). Anyway, I appreciate your kind words.

Dump the woman and buy what you want...unless you have a kid with her...then i would say get married. otherwise Stay Single and go to strip clubs and buy guns !

Don't be an idiot.

ArmedinAtlanta if I were you I would just hold on to the Bersa and wait for after the wedding. You likely won't get anyone to trade up even with you, you'd probably need to add some cash. Bersa's are decent guns but thats about it. No one is patrolling the forums looking for one, atleast not that I've seen. Wait until after the wedding, maybe you guys will have some gift money left over after the honeymoon you can use.

That's some really good advice there. Although you may get lucky and can work a trade without cash.

Probably sound advice... and maybe I'll fall back in love with the Bersa in intervening months. BTW, who knew there would be so many trolls trying to take a crap on this thread? I honestly thought most folks would identify with a little sacrifice (even if it were semi-coerced) in service of getting married and starting something great.
