I bought this as a used setup from a reputable dealer because I wanted to try a PVS 7. I was assured I would like the quality & clarity of the setup and intensifier tube or they would take it back. I liked the unit, so I kept it and have never had any problems.
Based on received questions and offers, I wanted to provide some additional information and add possible trades (posted above).
First of all, I will offer the same terms as I got when I bought this. If you are interested and want to test it out first without committing to purchase/trade, I am all for it and no negative feedback will be left. I believe this is fair for everyone. You will most likely not get this offer from someone selling a used unit online. The only conditions are: 1) you meet closer to me and 2) if offering a trade I must first be interested.
With regards to buying night vision, it is not the same as buying most things. This is due to the manufacturing process and the night vision industry in general. Although there are various brands of night vision, there are fewer image intensifier manufacturers (this is the majority of the cost of night vision). What this means is just because you buy a certain "brand" or "roll mark" does not mean that you are getting their brand of image intensifier tube. In addition, the price varies greatly due to the specs of the image intensifier tube. The better the specs, fewer blemishes, the location (edge, in the middle, research "zones 1,2,3") and the size of the blemishes on the image will also determine the price.
So, what I am advertising is an older unit, unknown brand or image intensifier manufacturer with a very high quality tube, with fewer and smaller blemishes than most tubes in this price range that works very well. You could pay someone to take it apart to find out the manufacturer if you really wanted to.
If you are interested in looking at the unit and are unfamiliar with night vision, I will also bring a comparison unit for you to look through with spec sheet (HP+, SNR over 30) that costs over $2,000 more than my listed cash price. This will help you to better determine if this unit is for you at my price point, want to make an offer, walk away, buy a new unit, etc.
If you are looking for a particular brand, spec sheet (FYI..not all brands provide a spec sheet), warranty...this is not for you. But if you want a good unit that you can "try before you buy," let's talk.
Additional pictures of tube quality can be sent upon request.
