What's the difference between the 30-a and a 336? Nice lookin rifle...
The 336 is a 35 cal. not a 30-30
The 336 is made in both .30/30 and .35...My .30/30 is a 336 and so are all the ones I've owned before. It is hard to find a Marlin 30/30 that is not a 336...There are differences between the 336 and the 30A. The 336 has a ramp mounted front sight and the 30A uses a dovetailed front sight. Also the 30A uses a cap on the fore end. 336's use a band. The 30A also used a hardwood instead of Walnut for their stock. Just some of the differences. And if I'm not mistaken the 30A was a Glenfield and Marlin bought out Glenfield a long time ago. Now make no mistake, this is definitely a Marlin, just using the Glenfield design. And this particular one is indeed an eye catcher. Best of luck with your sale. I doubt if you'll need it. Its a beauty!
