Item Description: Marlin 39a Golden Mountie with scope, great shooter, pics show condition, will trade prefer concealed carry, assault style rifles but will look at all

Does it say "Mountie" on it? The Mounties have straight stocks without the pistol grip.

Sorry the photo didnt show but its a v serial number which should be a 1961

The v is actually 1962 and it appears to be a Golden 39A and not a mountie. Mountie's were straight stock rifle's with the word MOUNTIE following the 39A on the barrel. Someone could have put a mountie barrel on it I suppose. Whatever it's the best 22 one can buy and lever's are great fun.

Let me backup a little here, it could be a late 61 or early 62. For some reason the u and v were split between 61 and 62. I'd like to have it but low on gun money right now.

Yes, the rifle pictured is not a "Mountie"

I own both models, a 39A & Golden Mountie, this rifle shown is a 1/2 & 1/2.......................the 1/2's when separated will interchange with different receivers most times (I have done this swap myself) but the rifle shown remains a 39-A regardless, not a Golden Mountie due to the fact the serial number determines the rifle model, not the barrel markings (Fed Law). Still a nice rifle, *the barrel, left-side receiver and forearm alone is worth the asking price if in good condition, a decent deal for someone.
