Item Description:
The .22-250 Remington is a high velocity, short action .22 caliber rifle cartridge, primarily used for varmint and small game hunting. It is also sometimes known as the .22 Varminter.
I have shot this for 2 hunting seasons before I moved to Ga
Great varmint rifle (heavy)
Use to reload rounds for this rifle , I have only put 100 rds through this rifle since I have had it.
OK I am getting a lot of questions about the barrel
what I know :it is heavy and solid, shoots straight and HAS NO MARKINGS ON IT ANYWHERE.
when I had the trigger smoothed out (not lightened) I had a professional gunsmith look at the barrel and He could not find a maker mark, or manufacture stamp ....There are no markings on this barrel, smooth all the way around.
Simmons scope 6-18x40 prohunter
Remington seven action
Heavy Stainless steel Barrel
Professionally smoothed trigger
looks like a jeweled bolt
the barrel has a recessed crown on the end
for the right trade can add ammo and reloading dies
mostly hunting rounds but some target stuff as well
sighted in at 100 yards I use to use it for varmint removal at 300yards (no problem)
So how, you ask, can the .22-250 lay claim to being the greatest small-bore cartridge of all time? Simple: Longevity. Flexibility. Popularity. It has more than sufficient velocity combined with excellent accuracy and a personality like a golden retriever. This is a wildcat that forced both rifle-makers and ammunition companies to sit up and take notice because it was just too good to ignore.
Over the .22-250's lifetime--now approaching 75 years--other cartridges have come along, challenged it and fallen by the wayside while the .22-250 has just kept getting better.
The .22-250 is mostly the choice of shooters who want velocity combined with accuracy and performance at extreme ranges. This cartridge developed a reputation for remote wounding effects known as hydrostatic shock.
