Item Description: This is in absolute perfect condition. It was fired by the previous owner. I do not have the box or the documents. It does have a new Leupold Rifleman scope mounted on it. True. Is Carbine stamped on left side of barrel?

I know a standard is 22 and a carbine is 18.5. But also the writing on the side of the barrel of a rifle has half of the writing out past the forearm and on a carbine, all of the writing is over the forearm. The model 74 carbine was not marked carbine on the barrel or the receiver. The guy I acquired this carbine from bought it new in the 1980's. It is a carbine from the factory and if you don't believe me, call Remington. Sorry to disappoint you, but it's true. And thanks for your input.

Oh and by the way, all the writing is over the forearm.
