Location: Savannah
Zip Code: 31405
Item is for: Sale or Trade
Sale Price: $1200
Trade Value or Items Looking For: Bisley Blackhawk. Has to be Stainless. 480 Ruger, 454 Casull, 44 Mag. Or a short cylinder BFR of whatever caliber. Prefer those previously mentioned but .475 Linebaugh shoots .480 Ruger so that would work. .500 JRH would be cool too.
Or a Mosin Nagant. Not some ultra collectible hex receiver Finnish thing but a plain ol communist crank out as many as you can before your heart gives out type of Mosin. I’d even take 2 Mosins on trade. Ideally one would be a tanker model or M44 or whatever they call them.
Caliber: .44 Magnum
Willing to Ship: Yes
Bill of Sale Required?: No
Item Description: Smith and Wesson 629-4 Classic Champion. 6 1/2" full underlug barrel. Unfluted cylinder. Target sights. Hardwood fingergroove grips. Bead blasted matte stainless. Box and docs included as well as the soft case pictured. English and German owners manual.
This gun has German proof marks on it. The vague history I can give on these guns is that they were made by S&W for a German distributor/importer called Wischo. After that all I can guess is that it was bought by a US military member and brought back to this country.
I could not find this gun in the Standard Catalog of S&W.
I shot this gun about 100 rounds and it is accurate. It locks up a tad better than the average S&W N-frame. The grips are really nice feeling and I don't usually like wood grips. Marks on the front of the cylinder will clean up. That is just from firing. Faint scratches on the cylinder as well as a prominent turn line that can be seen in the pictures.
Selling to finance some other projects as can be seen in my trade items.
My best group with this revolver shot two handed standing at 20 yds double action with the ammo shown.
