Not original finish, Prob some type of parkerize to cover the rust that can be seen out on the barrel. Last paragraph reads that this .45 Hand Ejector Model of 1917, ser #96xxx was shipped Aug 9, 1918 with a blued finish and smooth walnut grips. Thanks for looking!
