For fans of the 686 line, this is truly a holy grail piece—a Smith & Wesson 686-4 Plus with a 2½-inch barrel and 7-round capacity. It’s a rare and highly desirable configuration: pre-lock, built with forged parts, and offering the extra round in the cylinder that sets the Plus models apart. This revolver has been fired but remains in excellent condition. The stainless finish is clean and original, with crisp edges and no signs of abuse. It looks fantastic and performs even better. Mechanically, it’s rock-solid. Lockup is tight, timing is spot on, and the action is smooth and consistent—exactly what you’d expect from a pre-lock Smith. It has that signature “bank vault” feel when it cycles. It’s equipped with the original Hogue rubber grips it left the factory with, which are in great shape and provide a firm, comfortable grip. A Smith & Wesson factory box is also included. While the serial number does not match the gun, the box specs (model, barrel length, etc.) do. These don’t come up often, especially in this barrel length and configuration—so if you’re after a top-tier L-frame revolver with carry and collector appeal, this one checks every box.
