When I was a kid I wouldn't think twice about it. Like you said that kinda recoil needs taming to work with these old bodies. LOL
Even though I need a little more cushion now, I still prefer the caliber (30-06) over any other for my hunting setups!
I agree! Companies are working overtime trying to come with new super calibers and that takes the public eye off of old faithful like the 30-06. It's been doing the job for what, 120 years? It can kill anything on four legs from here to Alaska and a great deal of game in Africa as well.
Absolutely, I've dropped more Whitetails in their tracks with a 30-06 than all other calibers that I've owned previously combined! Good enough for me to stick with it the rest of my hunting years.........
Guess the caliber alone is why I've had very few offers on here for such a nice 42 year old rifle! Compared to other posted setups I know price can't be the issue!
