Up for sale or trade is a Swiss 96/11. This is a Schmidt-Rubin 1896 that was updated in the early 1900s to conform to the new standards of the 1911 series of rifles. This rifle is in great shape and shows the features expected of an updated rifle. The only notable changes are that a previous owner lowered the rear profile of the follower to prevent the magazine from holding the bolt open, and a portion of the bottom of the bolt knob cracked off. This can be seen in the pictures. If you want, you could find a new follower or magazine. Also, the knob is easily replaceable with a screwdriver. Everything on the rifle (including the removable magazine) is numbers-matching, except for the bolt. The fit and smoothness are excellent.
This rifle was originally built around 1901.
Bore is in great shape as well.
