Another rare rifle from my military collection, unfortunately, NO capture papers were available...

1st full year of production from the Steyr rifle plant in Austria after annexation...

1940 Steyr 98k 8mm rifle, ALL MATCHING #s The rifle was a Heer (German Wehrmacht or Army) contract rifle... Serial # 17xx L

Bore is dark and frosted from 4 years of combat, still shoots great..
With a MINT ORIGINAL 98k sling... Rifle has NOT been Duffle Cut.!!!!!

The only thing missing is the original cleaning rod...

Early all matching 98k's are getting very hard to find...!!!!!!

CAN I ASK HOW YOU NO IT WAS A BRING BACK?
I was contacted by the commander of the VFW Post that the rifle was on display in... The vet that gifted the rifle to his post had a plaque on display with it... It stated that he had killed the kraut that was carrying the rifle, he then sent the rifle home in the mail... Worked for me...

Thats a cool story that can increase the value if it can be validated.
