Up for sale is a Intratec TEC-DC9 that has never been fired. It is an awesome collector's piece that will continue to rise in value. This is one of the coolest guns ever made, an 80's and 90's icon, and was featured in several famous movies, shows, and video games. Democrats want to ban this gun more than any other due to its noteriety in high profile mass shootings and gang use. I purchased 2 of them a few months ago and am selling one of them because it is no longer needed. It comes with 3 magazines, an original barrel extension, and a hard case. This is a semi-auto only closed bolt gun.
There is a really good reason to buy this gun over others for sale. All variations of the TEC-9 have weak plastic lower receivers that will eventually crack at the front pin hole where the upper and lower meet. When you buy a used TEC you don't know how many rounds have been fired through it and how close the front pin hole is to cracking. When it cracks, it's dangerous to keep using it, and it might break completely while firing. Often there are TECs on GunBroker that are being sold as parts kits only because the lower is cracked and the rest of the gun is scrap metal. There is no way to repair the cracks and there are no replacement lowers available. Once it cracks, it's dead. The first models of the TEC: the KG-9, KG-99, and early TEC-9s, were especially prone to cracking because the bolt would smack the lower receiver each time it fired. Later TEC-9s and all TEC-DC9's were upgraded with threaded metal end caps that completely contain the bolt so it doesn't smack the lower. Even with this big upgrade the lower pin will still eventually crack. This is one of the latest models of TEC, the TEC-DC9, so it has the upgraded threaded metal end cap, and it has 0 rounds fired through it. That means it is at 100% of it's useful life and in perfect firing condition.
I take PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle if you prefer to pay electronically. I can also take money order, cash, and cashier's check.
Some history on this firearm: Following the 1989 Cleveland School massacre, the TEC-9 was placed on California's list of banned weapons. To circumvent this, Intratec rebranded the TEC-9 as the TEC-DC9 from 1990 to 1994 (DC standing for "Designed for California"). The only noticeable external difference between the TEC-9 and the TEC-DC9 is that the later model TEC-DC9's moved the sling loops from the side of the gun near the cocking handle to the rear. I believe this upgrade was done so the user could carry it with a single point sling under the shoulder vs a 2 point sling across the chest. Also, the charging handle acts as a safety if you press it in, so moving the sling loops back stopped the safety from being pressed accidentally.
