Custom Built JM Stamped 1895 in 45/70, Started as a 1994 built 1895SS with 22" barrel and 4rd mag tube. Was in perfect condition, but I wanted an older JM stamped Marlin with the look of a newer 1895GBL. All work was done by a local gunsmith in Gainesville, GA, Hogleg Smith, who recently retired and was known for work on the Cowboy Action genre of firearms. His work included:
- Shortened and re-crowned factory barrel from 22" to 18.5"
- Installed a factory 1895GBL 6rd mag tube
- Filled factory rear site dovetail to create a slick looking barrel with no iron sights
- Smoothed and polished factory action
- Installed Wild West Guns Big Loop Lever, Happy Trigger Kit, "Bear-Proof Extractor", and Aluminum Mag Tube Follower
- Performed matte bead blast on all metal and re-blued to create a modern matte finish

Since this is a brush gun and I wanted a modern slick bolt-gun look, i added a good quality scope from Leupold. It's a VX-5HD series with a low power of 2x for woods hunting and a high power of 10x for longer range shots. It has the Leupold Custom Dial System (CDS) where you can have a custom top turret made to dial in elevation holds for your specific rifle/load. Every new CDS scope comes with one free custom made turret. I have not ordered a turret yet, so the buyer will get the code to order their own for their favorite load. This scope is also equipped with the Firedot Duplex reticle, which is an illuminated reticle - perfect for low light shots deep in the woods!

For the asking price, this package will include everything shown in the photos, including a new soft sided case, leather sling, spare parts, and 95 rounds of 45-70 ammo. I am not interested in parting this package out, but for the right offer would consider selling the bare rifle first. I do not want to sell the ammo or the scope separately unless/until the rifle has sold.

Before making a ridiculous offer, please consider that a bare, stock JM stamped 1895 will bring $1200-1500 all day, and new Ruger built rifles are listed online between $1500 and $1900. Custom 1895's are listed on GB as high as $4000 - $5000. This gun includes $1000 worth of custom gunsmithing work, $500 for WWG parts, a $1200 scope and $300 worth of ammo. To duplicate this package, you'll spend over $4000 with tax/shipping.

Asking price is firm at $3500 for the package as shown, $2500 for the rifle only, $1000 for the scope only, and $250 for the ammo. Again, scope and ammo are not for sale unless the rifle sells first.

I can meet in Suwanee M-F, 8-5 or in Gainesville/Pendergrass/Jefferson area evenings/weekends. PM through ODT with contact info.

Thanks and God Bless!
