Yes indeed this is the sniper rifle. In the re-arsenal process, the turned down bolt is swapped out for the straight, and the holes for the scope are welded over exactly as mentioned. I can raise the price if that helps the skeptics feel more secure.

ex-snipers dont really bring any premium over any other 91/30. They were removed from service for a reason and the turned donw bolt and scope mount are what brings the money, and IMHO you will have a tough time getting that kind of money out of what you have.

All well and good, but if it doesn't have original scope, and mounts, it is not a sniper rifle in my book. .

Thanks. your gun looks very clean. I have had good luck redrilling and tapping those holes in the past. With the correct mount, this one would be a nice deer rifle. Good luck on your sale.

Thanks Hoss - from what I know, in order to re-arsenal these rifles and import them to the US, the scope had to be removed. It's good to hear you had good results drilling and tapping yours. Do you have any pics of that? That was my original intention when purchasing. Its a really enjoyable gun to shoot.
