Item Description: This is a waffen proofed Walther PP from World War II and issued to the German Army. I believe this pistol was manufactured between 1943-1944. The original finish has some minor pitting. It has all matching parts and is E/WaA359 proofed on the slide and frame. Correct grips and magazine.

Thanks for the knowledge guys. What's does WA359 mean?
Each inspector for the military had a specific punch for that firearm manufacturer whether is was a rifle, which there were a ton of manufacturers for, or the MP40, STG44, the walther pp and ppk they fired and inspected the weapon, then punched it. It then got approved for military use. Some PPs and PPKs were used only by paramilitary groups like the SS or SA, border guards, finance office, justice dept. Etc, and each had a specific mark they would put on their weapons which would give it away as a Nazi relic with the serial number placing a year of manufacturer on it.

Wow! Great information.....I didn't know it could handle overloaded rounds! Not that I would ever put a round through it. Thanks for the info guys. The old war time stuff can be complicated. It took me a long time to research this weapon.
