That little metal cap should slide INTO the rear of a standard bolt then the spring goes into the cap. That should be enough room to fully cycle the bolt. Usually the ones the require a new bolt are actually still using buffers in them. I could be wrong though

Pretty neat little system, I just don't want the reliability of my weapon hinging on that slight lip that catches in the rear of the bolt, that pens off that cap would go straight into the bolt and block the hammer and shut the weapon down. If the steel is tempered right it's a nest idea.
