Receiver Markings:
A Pahlavi crown, lion, and sun crest appear on the receiver. A crown crest and letters in Arabic "KT12" appear on one side; the 12 signifies the Persian year 1312, meaning the rifle was manufactured between 1933-34. The other side shows markings in Farsi and Arabic stating "Rifle Made by BRNO 1309"; the Persian year 1309 is 1930. The 1930 model had sturdier walnut stock and a smaller rifling pattern when compared to the 1317 model.
Wood Markings: A matching serial number in Arabic stating "3825 Ya" is shown on one side, and below it says "walking" in Farsi, indicating infantry rifle. The other side of the wood shows I.S.A. (inspector small arms) and 607 (British rack number) marked. These were British markings during Iran's occupation in WW2. Britain and the Soviet Union jointly invaded Persia due to their pro-Germany sentiments. These were often used by the British police in Persia.
