I sent my 686 dash 1 6 in in 2 Smith for the mod. Very easy process I called their customer service they sent me a package to ship back FedEx. They picked it up at my door and delivered it back within 4 weeks the cylinder look like it was new when they send it back I know the mod is for the firing pin but they probably took the cylinder and dipped it and cleaned it because it look like it hadn't been fired. This was in 2012. So it's very easy to get the mod and Smith rated a 10 out of 10 on customer service
