OP: That 742 has the highly desirable engraved walnut stock. If the forearm is matching and if you took the time to remove all of the paint and the actual wood is in good condition, you could get about your asking price just for the wood alone. Just the stock routinely sells for $100. Barrel and bolt and other parts will bring $200+

Yeah and there isn't any dents or gouges in the stock its self so I am sure it's in good enough shape to refinish. But I like to shoot'em and not part them out but I don't care who does what with it if they buy it.
