Beautiful Ruger 77 MarkII ultralight in 257 Roberts caliber made in 1999-2001For ones not familiar with the ultralights it is basically a slim down version of the regular Ruger 77 but with a 20” pencil barrel and a attractive black ebony rosewood fore end tip with very nice checkering and grip cap on a Walnut stock.A normal length of pull and weights in at six and one half pounds.I don’t know the history of this particular rifle but from the looks of bolt face , receivers throat and overall appearance I doubt if it has ever been fired or hunted with.I’ve owned it a few years and never fired or hunted with it.Rifle looks like new, blueing is a deep polish finish in excellent condition the wood finish is also very nice but I can’t say in excellent condition probably 98/99%.Ruger history numbers research shows rifle as being shipped in 2001 but the box is a 50 year anniversary dated 1999.Rifle and box serial numbers match so rifle was probably made in 1999. Rifle will come with box ,papers, rings , and possibly a box of Hornady 117 grain ammo (at least a 50$ value. It has been stated that the 257 Roberts is possibly the best deer caliber ever made but I guess that is debatable.Introduced in the early 30s .
