According to the ser. # ruger says 1997, ruger also says "Ruger does not produce firearms in serial number order. There are occasions when blocks of serial numbers have been manufactured out of sequence,sometimes years later". This firearm model in polished stainless was made Plus or Minus 1997. And it was only that year (plus or minus) that they made this version in Polished Stainless.

my buddy has an old model in 41 mag thats got the 4 1/2 inch barrel
that is the perfect barrel length for these things u can actually carry it
