Item Description: This is a Nickel Model 29. It has a 6" barrel. It has a low round count less than 100 rounds. It has a slight cylinder ring. No papers or box. It has a little wear on the grips. Overall it is in good shape. For sale only. price reduced, I need to sell it to fund a project.

I think S&W made 500 of these and the first letter in your serial number should start with S or an employee special order started with an N as the first letter . GLWS

It starts with an N

Looks like a 6” barrel

S prefix M29s began in 1955 with serial number S130927 and continued through 1969, ending at serial number S333454.
N prefix M29s began in 1969/1970 and began at N 1 and ended n 1986 or so at N 970000 or close to it.

You might want to pull the grips to see if there is an N stamped on the left side of the grips frame. The "N" in this case means it is an original nickel Smith.
