Item Description: For sale only is a late '90s (96-99) S&W model 36. This is a 36-9 and is a pre-lock with the magnum frame. All components are case-hardened. This is one of the few model 36 variants that do not have the notorious lock and is capable of handling +P ammunition. Asking $600 even. PM with interests.

That is a nice model 36. I have never heard of one with a Magnum frame. I thought all model 36 's
were built on the same frame..
Thanks for your interests. And, no sir. S&W didn't start making the Model 36 specifically on the "magnum" frame until 1996. This frame is engineered for continuous +P fire and was adapted from the Model 60 magnum frame Upgrade and also the Airweight models benefited from the design change as well, though not all at the same time. They didn't make this variant for too long (relatively speaking) before the frame lock appeared on the model 36-10.
