Item Description: Smith & Wesson Model 586 revolver, 4-inch barrel and Pachmayer grips. This pistol is in very good condition. Has original box, paperwork, as well as a new Galco leather holster and three speedloaders

Is it a round butt or a square butt?

I asked because round to square but grips and stocks are readily available. A picture of rubber grips that cover the back strap doesn’t tell the tale.

This is a S&W revolver with a round butt grip frame but with a round-to-square conversion stock:

Just because the stocks or grips have a square profile does not mean that the revolver has a square butt grip frame.
