4FADBD4F-F494-4369-B68F-97DD6907DF38.jpeg Item Name: FS Smith & Wesson M&P 15R with 7N6 1,080rd of Steel Core 5.45, 10 5.45 C-mags and 200rds of PPU 5.56

Location: Alpharetta

Zip Code: 30022

Item is for: Sale Only
Sale Price: $1,500

Caliber: 5.45x39

Willing to Ship: No

Bill of Sale Required?: No

Item Description: Up for sale is a modified Smith and Wesson M&P15R in 5.45x39, perfect for plinking so you don't use up your 5.56 ammo. The ballistics of 5.45x39 are better than 5.56 due to a higher BC and terminal ballistics are far superior...'the poison bullet' as its called. I have an 11.5" one as well as a 5.45 Krinkov so don't need 3 5.45x39s. The package includes the following

- Professionally removed A2 front site and a Wilson Combat low profile gas black installed.

- Standard A2 handguards removed and 13" Lancer carbon fiber handguards installed (they never heat up).

- KAC hand stop

- 1,080 round 7N6 Russian Steel Core spam can that is the real deal as i purchased it right when it was banned and now sells for $800 alone. Money back if you don't believe me.

- 180 rounds of Red Army 69gr 5.45x39 ammo. 69 grain increases range and accuracy.

- 6 unopened 5.45x39 C-Mags and 4 opened ones. I took an AR tactical class with this upper and they don't jam like other 5.45 AR's.

- Optional LMT Nickel Boron bolt carrier for $100 extra (or I may just include it instead of the Surefire or Geissele bolt carrier)

- 200 rounds of 5.56 55gr PPU battle back just because 5.56 is hard to find much less for free

- Spikes T2 buffer & FDE Geissele Charging Handle.

This is a great upper that is reliable and shoots ~2 MOA with Wolf and 1.5 MOA with Hornady Black (I'll include a couple boxes of Hornady black). The KAC lower is NOT included, just the complete upper receiver group. Text me at 678 787 1012

As always, regardless of times I offer good deals. Other non-modified S&W M&P15R uppers are going for ~$900 and 7N6 ammo is $.80 a round at best.

Why is the 5.45 x39 called the poison bullet?
It's a translation error. The term used by the Mujadeen translates to poison stinger or bee stinger.

Because the Russian 5.45!has a hollow tip, steel core and lead base. So when the bullet impacts the front of the bullet slows down while the heavier lead base is still going the same velocity causing it to tumble violently and would severely. M193 or M855 either just punches holes straight through or compresses. Of course the M193 at close range and high velocity fragments but for the 5.45 velocity doesn’t reduce its lethality as terminal ballistics are the same at 50m or 500m, roughly. It also shreds through Kevlar as a result of this

As for the translation you know more than me I’ve just always heard soldiers say it’s the poison bullet.

It is a very underrated round in my opinion as it has significantly less recoil but same range and better ballistics and terminal ballistics than 55gr 5.56. I can easily hit an 12” plate at 500 yards and my 11.5” 5.45 AR can hit a silhouette at 500 yards while my 11.5” 5.56 struggles more due to the lower BC of 55gr

It was retrofitted. You can see the 5.45 stamp on the barrel as well as the indent from A2 sight. Smith and Wesson designed this specifically for the 5.45x39 so it doesn’t have M4 feed ramps which is one of the reasons it feeds so well. Other companies just took an AR-15 and swapped barrels. Smith and Wesson built from ground up for the 5.45 round

question:
was the barrel retro fitted into the upper or replaced? just trying to figure out if the barrel is a true 5.45 x 39.
Thanks!
Barrel is true 5.45x39 that built like all Smith and Wesson barrels just intended for 5.45mm. I did not replace the S&W barrel, just had the A2 site and gas black removed. See pic below
