Item Description: Hey folks! Up for sale is a Nickel Plated S&W .357 Magnum Model 586, 4" barrel. It comes with its original wood grip, as well as a hogue rubber grip attached. What dash number is your 586

Not home at the moment to look. I've heard something before about the dash being significant, what's it mean though?

Because the nickel finish went away in 1992 which means yours is a no dash a one or a two. And with each dash change a change was made to the revolver.
