Item Description: For sale is a St. Etienne '07-15 Berthier with wartime brass handled 'epee' bayonet.
This rifle is non 'N' marked, which means it never got back to France for the big refitting of small arms post war. Surplus ammo should not be fired in it.
Non numbers matching, which is par for the course on French WW1 rifles.
Crack at the wrist.
One big surprise on this one. In all my years of collecting French military rifles, I have never seen a front sight like this one has. It appears to be an 'experimental' windage adjusting front sight. It really is unusual (if you know these rifles)
