Correct. Shotgun chambered in 3" will shoot 2 3/4" or 3" shells. Choke size seems to be marked on the barrel only about half of the time. Most local gun shops or pawn shops that deal with guns on a regular basis will have a choke gauge. But, unless you have one close by, that may not be convenient to have checked.
While looking around online, I did see a couple of these guns with an adjustable choke, which can usually be adjusted to improved, modified, or full.

I just found some old buckshot and they are all 2 3/4 marked on the shells. There is no adjustable choke on th barrel
