1892 Winchester in .357 magnum. 24 inch octagon barrel. Great shape for its age.

Very cool! Know anything about its history? What was the original chambering? At first glance it appears to be an original 1892 that was rechambered or had the barrel lined? If so, any information on who did the work?

Don’t know any history. It was of course rechambered to the modern.357 and it functions well and it’s accurate.

In your fourth photo that shows the .357 chambering, there is a caliber on the top of the barrel. Looks like XX-XX W.C.F - is it .38-40 WCF perhaps? Something else?

25-20. It’s the original barrel. Bore diameter remains the same. Chamber was recut for .357 magnum.
