I own 5 Super X 1's. In my opinion, it's the best semi auto ever made. I have put 10's of thousands of rounds through one of mine. The others have been shot a lot, but not as much as the one I shoot clays with.

Beautiful wood on this one. Very nice.........

When Winchester introduced this gun years ago, I understand their objective was to duplicate the handling characteristics of their older and legendary Model 12 Pump. In my opinion they succeeded, and I always wondered why the SuperX had such a relatively short production life.

Because it was too expensive to produce, when compared to the Rem. 1100. just as the Model 12 was compared to the 870. I love my 870 but it doesn't point and balance like an Model 12.

Trapshooters in particular still covet the SuperX.

They are a heck of a gun, that the average shooter today isn't familiar with.

The Super X 1 cost $75 more than a Remington 1100. To most people who were just looking for a good semi auto shotgun, the $75 was a big deal. To serious trap and skeet shooters, it wasn't a big deal. And they bought the SX1.

If you ever take an SX1 apart and compare it to a Remington 1100, you will see why it cost more to produce. They are worlds apart in the detail work.

Not saying there is anything wrong with the Remington, but the SX is a better built shotgun.
