Item Description: Production sequence #00784, pre-production May 1973.

1974 IHC Travelall Custom 4x2 100 (1/2 ton). I've owned and built many D-series "final" Light Line IH pickups and Travs...this one is the single-most rare one I've ever encountered. Mainly because it is very likely the first one to've left the Springfield assembly line for the model year (All IHC production was sequential at that plant - a Loadstar, then pickup, then another Loadstar, etc.) This one has the line set ticket still affixed to the glove box, and is labeled in the final field "SHOW TRUCK". After the 1974 show troupe toured, this unit was shipped to Ft. Wayne, IN, which is where the Scout assembly plant, as well as the IH Tech center is/was located. It stayed there until it somehow wound-up in Marietta many years later.

Mayan Mist metallic, woodgrain, 392 4V (yes, FACTORY 392 during the "shortage period where 95% went to Loadstars, with the AMC 401 being substituted instead) with smog pump, tubes, evap canister, Loadflite 727 auto, 3.31 gears, 6600 GVWR, A/C, cruise, Custom decor, twin tanks, FACTORY CHROME RALLYES, AM FM factory stereo, clock, factory trailer tow package with factory trailer brake control, oil cooler, PS/PB, factory dual exhaust, factory undercoating....

The line set ticket is the longest I've ever seen. It's an amazing barn find.

This truck will run, as I started it on ether for a few seconds. The factory Carter Thermoquad has either a cracked body or the floats are stuck "down" because it dumps gas. Regardless, the tanks need to be removed and boiled-out because the gas is stale. There is some rust BUT its clear this Trav was kept out of the salt. If you know IH's, you know they rusted as a matter of course, mostly at the pillars and windshield "eyebrow". This one is totally free of run in those areas that giveaway the truck as a "rust monster". But she does need to be stripped, frame-off, and properly restored. I suppose you could "resto-rod" it, which would require a fair degree of hoses, fluids, probably brake hoses, tires, etc. But this unique and historic truck should be restored to factory condition.

My job has been to preserve it until I could place her in a new IH home, which is why I'm listing her here, in hopes that one of you would be interested.

NOT DRIVABLE, TRAILER AWAY ONLY....SAY AGAIN....TRAILER AWAY ONLY. This IH has sat for at least 15 years.

I will upload pic later today, but mainly wanted to get the narrative done.

Questions? Ask away. I've been an IH/AMC/Jeep builder for 35 years; this one is pretty cool, fellas.
