Item Description: 1978 remington 700 classic , you will be hard pressed to find a nicer one this rifle is beautiful , But is missing factory sights. Please see trade interest not in a rush to get rid of . Scope Not included.
Trade interest must be in same condition with 22-24 " barrels only no heavy barrels
Model 70 Featherweight , ruger hawkeye , rem 700 bdl or cdl ,browning , howa hs precision , weatherby wilderness 7mm-08, 6.5 or maybe 308
Or high end 257 roberts .
No budget plastic guns , if your trade does not have a wood stock it will need a qaulity after market stock .thanks

The '78 Classic model was twisted to stabilize heavier bullets more suitable for deer hunting, unlike earlier version 700's which favored much lighter bullets...in other words this is the 700 for you if you want to deer hunt with it!! I much prefer 6mm over 243 for deer personally.
 
Great rifle. But I never thought I would see the day there was 2 nice remingtons in 6mm on here for sale

I have other 243 and 6mm rifles all with 10 twist , and with the partition or sierra 85 hpbt never had a deer go more than 10 yards . Most fall right where they were standing
 
Bought my Dad now deceased a used Rem 600 in 6 mm in 1982. He killed several deer a year for 20 years.
I loaded Speer 100 grain blunt nose bullets for him. Very few deer escaped the ventilation of the 6 mm.
