Ive been outsourced

My employer was bought out 4-5 years ago, my wife's last year.

Names changed, job stayed the same.

Now the people at the top got axed.

Are you at the top?

Most companies bought by investment companies have this happen

Pretty much has become common corporate practice. "Ideally" (and some have already gotten there) a company is like a franchise model, nothing but a brand name, an patent/trademark portfolio, and of course a board of directors and shareholders taking the profits. Everyone/thing else that actually does the work and makes money are all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors.

Having to just change badges and your email sig line is better than the alternative.
You aint kidding.

Sucks bro....

What kind of work do you do?

May be someone amongst us looking....
Mechanic heavy equip/industrial

So you are being outsourced to yourself? Or, you are not? That sucks man, or it doesn't.
Not really sure at the moment

The real kick in the teeth will happen when you have to train the people that going to replace you
Im going to have train myself...

Which company in cartersville? I work in Calhoun until June 30th, then our plant closes and gets consolidated into two other ones ( Mississippi and chicago)
Right at 40ppl let go
Shaw

If a company "outsources" you to some kind of subsidiary..... Start looking elsewhere. There are good opportunities out there-but not with any company ****ty enough to do that to it's employees.

(Is the company owned by trump? Serious question-he does **** like this-often.)
Warren Buffet/Berkshire Hathaway

The real kick in the teeth will happen when you have to train the people that going to replace you

Been there, done that several years ago. That's exactly what happened to me and scores of others in my department under the veil of "leaving us to focus on more important task of responding to shifting business practices in the industry". We later found out the pres of our company (who eventually sold our company) was also part owner of the company for the people were were training "offshore". We were sold to a competitor who had almost identical roles as my department. We were told "don't worry, we need you". A year later the pres retired a rich man while my department was forced to look for employment elsewhere.

We did get a decent severance package but the whole experience wreaked to high heaven. Employee beware :)

I worked for a company years ago that wanted me to travel to India to train/relate 20 years of experience to people that could have no hope of actually providing needed service to U.S. customers. LOL, I told them to pound sand.
