I've changed my mind about the Second Amendment

I would like to add that I do not believe Laufen is actively looking to arm violent felons but is instead asking if the 2A needs to be a bit more verbose.
That is the way I see it, as crazy as some of the left wing crap that he post I think he is right on this. Strangely he has made me see a few things differently and I like having him around for that reason but I still think he is bat **** crazy for being a liberal!

Well there you have it. I usually start threads like this with a covert purpose as well as an obvious one.

First off it's important that we examine our rights, how we are "allowed" to exercise them, and how if at all they can be stripped from us.
Secondly, I feel that it is important to occasionally examine how we came to out opinions of current laws, and if they still mesh with new information or personal growth we've achieved
Lastly, it's good to think outside of current legal parameters, and see if our rights could be expanded and protected further by simple changes in the way things are done (shifting paradigms).

Should violent felons retain the right to bear arms after they are released from prison?

1. Why are they still violent after a release from prison?

2. Why were they released if they are still violent?

3. Are you willing to begin eliminating rights for general groups of people, based on obvious failings of the judicial system for a few--even majority?

4. How fragile should our rights be?

5. Which degree of illegal behavior should necessitate one giving up their rights, and to which rights should that sacrifice extend?

These were the questions I hope you've all thought about. It's why I asked you to argue FOR your position and not against mine.

I've truly appreciated the level of discussion on this thread, and I hope it has been as illuminating for you as it has been for me.

Let's keep it going.
