Agree. I had to drop a package off today, and the post office was locked. More like a inconvenience if you ask me.
 
Really a "Texas" thing. Emancipation Proclamation "ended" slavery in only those States in rebellion against the Federal Government.

I think formally recognized by the Federal Gov't sometime in 2020.

Slavery did not end in the United States until the 13th Amendment was ratified Dec 6th, 1865.

Slave owners in Galveston Texas, (Galveston Island) did not inform their slaves that Lincoln had freed them and June 19th 1865 is the date that federal troops showed up and forced them to free their slaves 2.5 years after the emancipation proclamation. So basically it is a So Texas holiday and the Biden regime decided to jump on the wagon in hopes of buying more votes.
