Meanwhile over in the politics and hot topics section, I said something unflattering about the history of the catholic church in the pope thread. One of our brave mods locked the thread, then unlocked it so that he could respond to my comment with a snarky question, then locked it again so that I couldn't reply.

You do know that users can lock their own threads, right?

Yeah I know I mean it was really my fault. I shouldn't have been spreading dangerous misinformation like that the catholic church has been covering up child sex scandals and shielding known pedophiles from justice for decades.

So you think the OP locked his own thread then unlocked it just long enough for a mod to comment on my post then magically locked it again the minute that it was posted? I haven't seen a coincidence like that since someone ate an undercooked bat right across the street from the factory where they make covid viruses

Not seeing a thread lock/unlock in the moderator's log. And moderators can post on locked threads if they don't notice the lock. Happens all the time.
