You know, year before last (I believe it was) I shot one opening weekend of rifle season. I put it on a hay bale in the sun. THE NEXT DAY the thing was almost 'deflated' from maggots. I was absolutely shocked. I have not idea how they hatched and ate that fast. The next week, just hair and bones. I'd have figured that late in the year they would operate so fast but I swear it seemed FASTER.Everyone I have ever left out was taken by the maggots and mother nature. The buzzards would not touch them.
I should put a camera over it....Stuck a deer right at dark a few nights ago, ended up cleaning him in the headlights so left something of a mess. Went back the next morning with a shovel and yotes had taken care of it all for me. Got a friend who had the same question of "what eats dead yotes?" set up his trail cam on a pair he shot and hogs finally ate them after about a week.
But yes, they are bad agents.

I'd be happy to snap my fingers and teleport them to your hunting grounds.Nice yote! I hope to get my dancing rabbit and electronic call a workout soon. I am jealous that all you have to do is walk outside![]()
