Thanks... to be honest, I wasn't exactly expecting the DRT.... but I mean not a single twitch. I should have trekked back there to see where I hit it (aimed for high shoulder) but it's a bit of a mess getting back there. I suspect it'll be there tomorrow if I'm feeling a little more ambitious.
Maybe just wait a bit and his buddies come to eat his corpse. Whack them too.

They don't do that (I think they stink too bad!
) Heck even the buzzards normally leave them alone for a few days. We'll see.... there are at least two black ones in the pack. I'd really like to wait for winter and full coats to get one of them but they are getting more and more brazen so they may just go whenever the opportunity presents itself. I keep telling my wife "full body mount above the bed". Her and her lack of artistic appreciation....

It actually does based on the front paws. It's a terrible pic (iPhone through spotting scope) but it is a pretty big one for sure. Lots of trail cam pics of them the last couple of weeks.
