Had a friend about 5 years ago give me an SS WW2 gun. 8mm Mauser. Had eagle and swastika in 3 different places on it. I'm all American, I just don't believe in destroying history just because I don't like the opposing side. I thought it was pretty cool.

Its very cool that he thought enough of you over his own boys to gift this beauty to you. I believe what most everyone here has said to be dead on. (Except the tax man) I’d take it to the woods every opening weekend and start a tradition with it in his honor.
I don’t see Anything in that area. Only mark on the barrel is a D on the right side above the wood next to the receiver
Ok I was just wondering if they were stamped like the old marlins. I have a older glenfield model 60 made by marlin and it is stamped so I was just curious. I’ve never handled one but I feel sure it’s just as reliable as the 336 and from the pics it looks like a beaut!
