I recently traded for a PMR30, a pistol I had long wanted, but when firing w/ the 33gr hollow points (assumed to be CCI mini-mags due to nickel cases) jammed or double-fed about every 5 rounds. These were what the guy who traded it said worked best. The 40 gr Remmingtons I had been using in my Savage rifle all functioned fine. I know the mags are picky about loading. Any tips on this prob or others w/ same?

Loading can be an issue, after loading tap the back of the mag on a hard surface.

Mine all love 40 gr, they were designed for 40 gr. The 33 gr may not have enough mass to operate properly.

Thanks Granite. I know to tap all mags when loading so that wasn't it. The KelTec manual actually recommends one 33gr they call high power, but I think I'll make sure I only feed it 40's from now on. R

Manual is available online here: https://www.keltecweapons.com/media/article/pdf/PMR-30_Manual_Complete_Optimized.pdf

As for mag loading... are you certain you weren't putting the top round's rim behind the lower round. If you don't load to the front and slide each one back, this is usually the result.

Good luck!
Thanks Dirty. Cant say I looked for that but since the ftf happened every 4-5 shots I think it unlikely. The mag springs are pretty strong so my old thumbs can only push a small round like this from the open front to bak of mag. Might be my grip wasn't as firm as it used to be. Oh well. R
