Land for Target Shooting - Atlanta

There are lots of people looking for exactly the same thing. The reality is there's very few people who might allow this kind of activity for various reasons, liability being one of them.

Personally, I'm keeping my eyes out in case a suitable piece of land goes up for sale on the east side, (Loganville and east), either to buy myself, or to find 3-5 people to purchase as a group.

Depending on price, keep me in mind.

PM me if Jasper / Ellijay is not too far for you. FYI a shooting range is very different than a hunting lease from an insurance /liability standpoint. Also I'd recommend seeking out any idpa us psa 3 gun etc in your area. Most ranges do them and they will be your only opportunity to do the dynamic things your speaking of in a formal environment.

Thanks for the replies. If surely be interested in getting taken out to some wider shooting lands.

Also I'll look for some matches and such. But it seems a bit overwhelming to get involved in when you are newer to it and don't have all the gear. I'd expect more experienced people would be running circles around me. I wouldn't want to slow others down or get frustrated.

Dude.... one of the best shooters I know came in dead last in every match he shot his entire first year. Don't let your ego repress your skills. That is one of the most depressing things I see. We hold an outdoor defensive pistol practice every Thurs. I can't tell you how many people come out and watch and we never see them again. Every great shooter started out average at best. They just were able to accept that and seek out a mentor. I rather be around people who are far better than me than people that I run circles around. There's a few guys I shoot with now that I know laughed at me in the beginning. Now they respect me. That's a hell of a feeling only felt by those willing to endure. The first time I went through Rogers Shooting School I did not pass. The last time I attended I was the class marksman.
