I've shot one similar and they are a LOT of fun. Plus it works and provides challenge for a variety of ranges.

Ive got a couple friends with land to shoot on, but organizing with them can be difficult.

I can sympathize with that. It's a little bit of a drive from Kennessaw, but you should checkout http://semperfiguntraining.com/ as it's worth the drive. Jumpinjarhead is a member here and there are a couple threads about shooting there. I do have property to shoot on that is about the same distance away, but they have a nice setup and very reasonable prices considering you have the whole range at your disposal. You can bring your own targets including steel. That was a big factor in me investing in these targets. I have a couple outings planned at Semper Fi that are upcoming. They offer training as well, which almost everyone could benefit from.
