What new lessons did y’all learn this hunting season?

I learned that I’m just not a a huge fan of cup and core bullets anymore. Solid coppers have spoiled me. I didn’t lose any animals but going back to a standard 150g 308 this year, I noticed a lack of blood trail and deer going ALOT further than when I was using Barnes TTSX’s. A relatively small sample size (4 deer) but I missed the “bang flop” I got last year.

I learned that it is exceptionally difficult to shoot in low light when you're not prepared for it. Crazy concept, right? Luckily I still made a clean shot but did have to locate it first thing next morning.

I need to work on my crossbow skills more. Started shooting does in the head and neck and bang/flop with a 7.62x39 SST round.
Also, chiggers suck when they get you.
