Ok, forget the "research" and finding the exact name.
How about everybody reading this thread take a guess (even a wild-ass guess) in the next couple days and I'll look at the models you name. The one that I think looks closest to this will win it (if nobody gets the actual correct answer).
 
It's Italian - and it's a Bodeo M1889. It was (one of?) the Italian service revolver(s) up until it was replaced by the Beretta M1934.

It's interesting - the trigger folds up and locks in place, and it's released by pulling back the hammer.

Damn stupid idea if you ask me.
 
Yep,

Bodeo Model 1889 pistol,
named for Carlo Bodeo, the head of the Italian firearms commission.

The particular one I posted is marked with the defense contractor's / manufacturer's name instead, Glisenti, of the town of Brescia.
